Holiday lights and festivities for a family fun experience in Johnson City from dusk to midnight, "The Twinkliest Town in Texas", boasting over two million twinkling lights in our historic square off Main Street, Memorial Park and PEC headquarters.
This annual display is a free event you can't miss. This years Car Show is supporting this event that brings smiles to the kids and families visiting from all over. With over 2 Million Christmas lights, this display is so big, Santa has said it's his favorite stop!

Come join us for the 4th annual Gears & Beers Car Show on the Courthouse square in Johnson City, Texas!
On Saturday, October 18, 2025, car enthusiasts from all over will gather to showcase their vintage, antique, classic and custom vehicles. This in-person event is the perfect opportunity to see some of the coolest and oldest cars and trucks in the Texas Hill Country, as well as, meet other car lovers. Don't miss out on a day of fun and excitement for the entire family!
Pre-registration for each entry is $35 plus a free T-shirt.
Day of Car Show registration is welcome for $45, but limited to available open spaces. T-shirts can be purchased at the event for $25. Availability and sizes will be limited.

Vinyl Flashback
Vinyl Flashback is Central Texas' premier cover band dedicated to performing classic rock tunes from the ‘60’s, ‘70’s and ‘80’s – from bands like The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, and more. The list of vintage music Vinyl Flashback covers is impressive, and when on stage – whether you’re into anthems or ballads – the performance is always audience pleasing.
Playing from 10 A to 2 P
The band will be performing during the Car Show for your entertainment. Please do not play music from your car or any device that may compete with the band.
OVERDRIVE - $1,000+
3RD GEAR - $750+

PARTICIPANT EXPECTATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Participants are not allowed to use any type of tent, chair or structure that will damage the premises of the parking lot or Courthouse grounds - for example stakes are not permitted for anchoring a canopy.
Participants are responsible for keeping their space clean and disposing of all trash in their area during and after the event (trash cans will be provided).
Participants may not use excessive heat, chemicals, marking devices, signs, paint, adhesive, or any other substance or device that could damage the premises.
The premises shall be left in the same or better condition as when you arrived.
While alcohol is allowed on premises, participants are expected to drink responsibly.
The Courthouse is a historical site and requires STRICT adherence for honoring and protecting the grounds around the Courthouse and parking lot area.
JUDGES WANTED
The judging of the cars and trucks entered in the show has been streamlined from last year. We learned a lot and have made significant changes to the process. A total of 10-15 judges will be required and each will be rewarded for their efforts. Judging forms will be provided.
Qualifications: General knowledge of cars and trucks. Don't have to be a mechanic.
Car Show entrants are eligible to judge in categories other than their own car category.
